Biopesticides are the type of pesticides that are derived from plants, bacteria, fungi and virus and certain minerals. These are environment friendly. Application of biopesticides is still limited to only a few percent of all pesticides used for crop protection. There are many factors contributing to that situation, such as expensive production methods, poor storage stability, susceptibility to evironmental conditions, efficacy problems. Biopesticides are usually inherently less toxic than conventional pesticides. Biopesticides are generally target specific and affect only the target pest and closely related organisms.
