Hydrotons are an excellent growing medium in Hydroponics, Aquaponics, and Soil-less Gardening.
They are formed by superheating small clay balls so that they expand and solidify into Hydrotons. They are highly porous and enhance air circulation thus increasing Oxygen availability in the root zone. They have good drainage and prevent waterlogging in the growing media.
They provide extra support to the plant. Also, they don’t get crushed easily and do not leave behind any sand-like powdery residue, thereby minimizing the chances of clogging the nutrient pump.
Due to a good retention ratio, you can increase the intervals between consecutive watering cycles thus saving on electricity.
