Description
Missile Insecticide (Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG) is a modern insecticide from the Avermectin group. It is a multipurpose soluble granular insecticide that provides effective control of caterpillars through contact and stomach poison action across various crops.
Missile has translaminar activity that allows it to penetrate leaf tissues and form a reservoir within the leaf, helping control caterpillars present on the lower leaf surface. It inhibits muscle contraction by causing a continuous flow of chlorine ions at the GABA and H-Glutamate receptor sites. Affected larvae become paralysed, stop feeding shortly after exposure and die within 2–4 days.
